Two Vintage Elsen Associates Stagehand Promo Long Sleeve Shirts. Elsen Associates was "a Pittsburgh-based company that provided wig and
makeup design to theater companies throughout the country and abroad."
Note the modifications made to the black shirt with cuffs cut off, presumably to allow room for gloves.
Provenance:
From the estate of "MN", who started as a roadie and worked as union stagehand, sound & lighting director and, finally, stage director. This shirt is one of four dozen from 1980's and 1990's, folded and stored by MN. Many were likely from shows, festivals, concerts, plays and ballets MN worked as stagehand.
Preparations:
Shirts were folded and stored for decades. MN was a smoker so all have been soaked in Biz for 48 hours, machine washed and machined dried (without bleach or stain remover). Your shirt will
smell of cleaning product
so you will need to wash with your preferred laundry products.
