This is a fantastic example of Pyrography - wood burning craft. This match holder is from the Flemish Art Co. New York # 857 and would be 100+ years antiquity. Very detailed lovely example - paint is still vibrant - Reads "Heres Your Match" with charming Dutch boy and girl. Match Holder is an attached decorated wood shoe. It is in surprisingly good condition - appears to be missing a cord or wire for hanging - there are 2 nails at top of plaque. Shoe appears to have been re attached at some point.
