How To Recognize Unmarked Vollrath Cast Iron Vintage Skillets

Vollrath made cast iron skillets 1920s to 1960s... often these are unmarked - without the maker's name... the no name versions are easy to recognize - the pan size number imprinted on the bottom is "sideways"  at the 9 and 3 o'clock position. Often, there is a dot or dash accompanying the number.... the heat ring is full outside... the handle gusseted on the bottom.

I like the older Vollrath pans... well made... generally, the interiors have nice smooth cook surfaces. They are affordable... and with time, one can collect a good set of various sizes.
