SOLD Lodge Umarked 3 Notch Cast Iron Chef Skillet - 10" Omelet Fry Pan - Rare Vintage Cookware Sloped Sides Walls
is on back order
A vintage cast iron cookware item... chef skillet with sloped sides - like an omelet pan... harder to find fry pan.
Unmarked Lodge... 3 notch heat ring... est. circa 1960s and later.
size 10" diameter at rim... 1-3/4" deep... weight 4.5 lbs
Good Condition... this pan was not used much... sits flat - no cracks or serious form damage... I believe the pit looking spots in the cook area are actual production imperfections... the handle has some slag in the hang hole....
this era pan was not ground perfectly smooth - note, the concentric hatch grind marks - still, it will season in smooth with time and cook well... see the last photo - next to this pan is a Wagner, that had the same type of grind marks before it was cleaned, seasoned and cooked with for a year....
We do the hard part... this pan has been strip cleaned down to original metal - the old cooking build up and carbon has been removed... it has a light coat of protective olive oil...you will want to season the pan with your choice of animal or vegetable oils... some of our customers are vegan - some others might prefer bacon grease... by not pre-seasoning the pan, you get to do it your way!
our cast iron is cleaned in a 100% lye water bath... hand scrubbed... placed in a vinegar/water bath... hand scrubbed again with a natural citrus cleaner... washed again... hand towelled and sun dried.
