Griswold Style Unmarked Antique Cast Iron French Roll Muffin Pan - Variation 2? - No. 11 New England Style
is on back order
An antique cast iron French roll or muffin bread pan... New England Style...
Possibly an unmarked Griswold? - there are no markings at all - two gate marks... perhaps, Haussler's variation 2... it matches in size to a later marked version - see last photo... this early version has a rougher surface - more of an as cast look, which the 1800s versions had..
makes twelve 1-3/4" x 3" buns... two hanging holes... size aprx. 7" x 13" ... weight 3 lbs 10 oz
Good used antique condition... with one fine hairline crack at a hanging hole/tab - see photo... not warped - sits well with mild wobble due to gate marks... no pitting or rust...
We do the hard part... this pan has been strip cleaned down to original metal - the old cooking build up and carbon has been removed... it has a light coat of protective olive oil...you will want to season the pan with your choice of animal or vegetable oils... some of our customers are vegan - some others might prefer bacon grease... by not pre-seasoning the pan, you get to do it your way!
our cast iron is cleaned in a 100% lye water bath... hand scrubbed... placed in a vinegar/water bath... hand scrubbed again with a natural citrus cleaner... washed again... hand toweled and sun dried.
